Landscape art is more than a picture. At its best, it evokes memories- the feeling of being in nature, being connected; offering peace and tranquillity, an escape from the stress of everyday life.
My landscapes are inspired by my travels, but ultimately by memories, the feelings I remember growing up on the northern slopes of the Balkan range. To express those emotions I have developed a unique style combining a range of techniques and processes, using a palette knife and brush, drawing on my previous work in orthodox iconography, to create a vibrancy of colour that goes beyond the beauty of the image I am painting. My aim is for my art to communicate the depth of my connection with nature and share it with others.
